I was sitting on my window sill when a bird flew and came by my side
At first I was wondering what this bright cuddle of colors was when I suddenly realized that it was one of those beautiful parrots I have ever seen.
I simply awed at the delighting and enriching sight and sat still for about five minutes when suddenly my mom came by my side
At first she couldn’t speak a word as the parrot’s beauty stunned her too.
After a few minutes of enjoyment she started asking me about the details
I felt a bit irritated as I wanted to awe at it more but alas I couldn’t refuse her
As I was telling her the story the bird did not move its eyes away from my hands which held a piece of apple which I was nibbling earlier
Its piercing sight seemed to burn my heart with a strange feeling of joy
I slowly stroked its beak and fed it with the piece of apple.
I felt that it too enjoyed it.
Hours had passed when it finally stretched it wings, getting ready for its flight.
The heart which was full of that strange joy suddenly felt disappointment and emptiness.
I realized that no joys last forever as even the sweetest chocolate has an expiry date.
And I stroked it for one last time before it crossed the yard and flew beyond the fence.
I thought it was the last I saw of it but I was wrong
The next day when I returned from school yet again I saw it playing with my mom but this time on the balcony. I was too overjoyed to notice the burden of homework that I had to complete. Just like the previous evening I spent my time with it, playing and pampering…..
