It’s a long time since I opened a word document to type out
something new for my blog. So today, on my birthday, I’ve decided to make new
beginnings.
A couple of days ago I participated in a debate on a
Facebook page. The topic was, “Do you believe in Fixed Destinies?”. I felt the
topic was quite good as both sides had equal weighing. I decided to express my
belief regarding this. I commented:
““Destiny is not a matter of
chance; it is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a
thing to be achieved.”

Destiny is never
fixed but it is formed as a result of our doings. We can have ideas about our
destinies in life but cannot say we will reach those destinies. And after all
life is journey and the destiny is never fixed. We have many destinies and many
new mornings.”
Now when I think over what I
wrote I feel the need to elaborate.
First of all, if you don’t
believe in a fixed destiny then it means that you do not believe in destiny as
a predetermined future. Rather, you believe in destiny as something that you
will achieve at the end of your life or as somewhere you will reach.
Before 10 years my Ambition in
mind was to become a medical doctor. Today I’m a commerce student, planning to
become a Charted Accountant. The reason I went for commerce is because I
realized that I’m not interested in Biology. Tomorrow I might become a novelist
or a lawyer. I don’t know what future has in store for me but I know that
whatever I become or get will be a result of what I do. I know that my destiny
will never be fixed. We make our own destiny with our thoughts, circumstances
and personality and normally they tend to change with moving time.
I believe no one has a destiny
from their birth. I believe in “Karma” being the factor that carves ones
destiny.
